About us

NIDAS (Newcastle Integrated Domestic Abuse Service) provides specialist accommodation and support to anyone experiencing domestic abuse in Newcastle.

NIDAS works with women and men experiencing domestic abuse to provide a safe environment and support and the project is run by Thirteen and Changing Lives,

By supporting you, we aim to reduce the long-term risk of violence and abuse, helping you to live safely and independently.

We know that everybody’s life is different, so we listen to you to discuss your options and let you tell us what’s important. We want you to have choice and control about the type of support that you receive from us.

Whatever your circumstances, we’ll work with you to reduce risks to your safety and wellbeing, and to overcome any practical concerns.

Who are we?

NIDAS is jointly delivered by Thirteen and Changing Lives.

Thirteen is an experienced provider of specialist accommodation and community-based support, including refuge and emergency accommodation for women escaping domestic abuse.

Changing Lives provide specialist support and accommodation services for women all over the country. This includes refuge provision for women escaping domestic violence, IDVA and ISVA services, and support to women involved in sex work or at risk of sexual exploitation.

Both organisations are registered charities with a strong track record in partnership working in Newcastle and providing high quality support to people experiencing domestic abuse.

They will work with partner agencies and use local connections, networks and relationships to help anyone at risk of abuse or violence in their relationships to access support and develop the emotional resilience to live safe and healthy lives.
