Organising your own quiz night
Quizzes are a great way to bring people of all ages together for friendly competition. Our team is here to support you with advice and tips to make your event a success.
Preparation for your quiz night
Allow a few weeks to plan your quiz and choose a date that doesn’t clash with major events. Our Fundraising Team can support you throughout the process.
Choosing a venue
Host your quiz at a pub or community centre and book early. Some venues offer charity rates, or free space if you can guarantee a minimum bar spend.
Spreading the word
Charge around £5 per person (or per team) and invite as many people as possible to maximise fundraising. Ask friends, family, and local groups to help promote the event, and advertise on social media. Review the quiz questions in advance and double-check answers in case they’re challenged.
On the night
Consider refreshments, perhaps include a drink or snacks in the ticket price. Enforce a no-mobile-phone rule to keep things fair. Make sure you have a good setup for the quizmaster and know where facilities and extra seating are.
At the end, announce 3rd, 2nd, and 1st place and give prizes (ideally donated by local businesses). Thank everyone for attending and share how much was raised for Changing Lives. Once funds are submitted, you’ll receive a certificate to display at the venue.
